HUH-7 cell line

HuH-7 is a well differentiated hepatocyte derived cellular carcinoma cell line that was originally taken from a liver tumor in a 57-year-old Japanese male in 1982. The line was established by Nakabayshi, H. and Sato, J. Human hepatoma cells is an immortal cell line of epithelial like tumorigenic cells that usually grows in 2D monolayers. Human hepatoma cells (HuH-7) was found to replicate continuously in a chemically defined medium. The cells grew better than in serum containing medium without any period of adaptation.
