RAW-264.7 (Murine Macrophage Cells) |
|
RAW 264.7 is a macrophage-like cell line derived from tumors induced in male
BALB/c mice by the Abelson murine leukemia virus. The cells are negative for surface immunoglobulin and Thy-1.2. RAW264.7 does not secrete detectable virus particles and is negative in the XC plaque formation assay. These cells will pinocytose neutral red and will phagocytose latex beads and zymosan. The cells are used in metabolic, inflammation and apoptosis studies. They are capable of antibody dependent lysis of sheep erythrocytes and tumor cell targets. RAW 264.7 cells also express polytropic MuLV. The RAW 264.7 cells adhere to tissue culture-grade plastic through cation–dependent integrin receptors and other cation-independent receptors. They are extremely sensitive to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) endotoxin from gram-negative bacteria, therefore, only sterile disposable tissue culture ware and solutions, buffers, and media with endotoxin tested distilled deionized water should be used.

Altogen Research Services |
|
Altogen Custom Services provide specialized biotechnology and pharmaceutical services, including - generation of stable cell lines, RNA Interference (RNAi) services, assay development, screening and transfection services. Generation of stably-expressing cancer cell lines and primary cells can be very expensive and time-consuming. Altogen Services offers generation of stable cell lines by transforming the cell line of choice to stably express gene of interest or shRNA-encoding construct. Cloning and shRNA expression services are available.
